* Bullet Proof - The term "bullet proof" is often used in the armor industry and often leads to many misconceptions. Bullet resistant materials are often referred to as "bullet proof." However, "Bullet Proof" is a term used to refer to bullet resistant materials and does not mean that the material is actually bullet proof, as nothing is really "bullet proof." Bullet resistant materials are manufactured and tested to meet UL Specifications. Hand loaded bullets, often referred to as "hot loads," represent a variation that may not necessarily meet the specifications set forth by UL. The UL Specification for Bullet Resistant Materials is designed to provide a standard for average "off the shelf" projectiles that are most commonly used in popular weapons. |
